IrisGo Launches "Watch & Learn" AI Operating System That Learns and Automates Tasks Across Apps

May 20, 2026

Mountain View, California, May 20, 2026IrisGo, a startup backed by Andrew Ng's AI Fund, today announced the public beta of its "Watch & Learn" technology for Windows PCs and Mac computers. IrisGo's AI Operating System introduces a new approach to human-computer interaction, providing an intelligent workflow layer that learns and automates tasks across applications after a single demonstration.

Unlike traditional software or AI assistants that rely on cloud processing and step-by-step prompts, IrisGo uses local context and persistent memory to handle complex, multi-step workflows in the background, powered by a hybrid of on-device AI and cloud infrastructure. Tasks such as research, reporting, and file management can be learned once and repeated automatically, without additional prompts or input. For example, a user can demonstrate how they compile information from multiple documents into a report once, and IrisGo will repeat that workflow automatically in future sessions, adapting to each user's individual approach and preferences.

According to Gartner, AI PCs account for 31% of global shipments this year, and are expected to become the norm by 2029. IrisGo's AI operating system is already shipping in devices such as the Acer Swift 16 AI, with approximately 3 million units expected to reach users this year. The company plans to announce additional PC manufacturer distribution partnerships before year end.

"IrisGo represents a shift from command-based AI to learning-based automation," said Jeffrey Lai, CEO of IrisGo. "By observing and learning from user behavior while keeping data private, IrisGo performs tasks on the user's behalf. Repetitive work is handled in the background so that people can focus on what matters, bringing us closer to a world where computers work for us, not the other way around."

Built by founding engineers behind Apple's Siri and veterans from the PC hardware industry, IrisGo's AI Operating System addresses several key limitations in current AI tools. These include limited access to local files and applications, reliance on constant Internet connectivity, and the need for users to manually describe tasks instead of demonstrating them. By enabling automation across applications, IrisGo aims to reduce tool fragmentation and streamline everyday workflows.

IrisGo is available in public beta for Windows PCs and Mac computers, in addition to pre-installations on devices such as the Acer Swift 16 AI. Download it here.
